Optimization of dry sliding wear behavior of aluminium-based hybrid MMC's using experimental and DOE methods

Due to its exceptional mechanical characteristics combined with lightweight and fuel-efficient materials, metal matrix composites (MMCs) have largely been developed for the automotive aerospace industries. In this paper, an attempt was made investigate dry sliding wear behavior of aluminium-based hybrid MMC's through experimental approach. The experiments were performed three types filler materials: Boron carbide (B4C), Molybdenum Di-sulphide (MoS2), graphite (Gr) particulates 50 μm reinforced into aluminium-2219 using stir casting technique. On other hand, data computing is a trend in engineering increasing drastically recent years. It has proved one most cost-efficient methods identify optimum results limited number experiments. Hence, research carried, emphasis on optimization, utilizing design (DOE) technique specified parameters. For DOE, additional conducted based full factorial then different analyses such as ANOVA, regressions equation, confirmation tests examine effect parameters composites. Besides, influence applied load (L), speed (S), distance (S-D) loss investigated. current investigation realized that B4C particles increases resistance MMC when compared selected materials study.
